Menahan Street band est né de la collaboration d’artistes : Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, El Michels Affair, Antibalas et The Budos Band se sont réunis autours du musicien et producteur Thomas Brenneck. Tous les titres ont été enregistrés dans une chambre de son appartement à Brooklyn et proposent une ambiance funk/soul digne des années 70.
